Academy Of Steam Multipack – Buoyant Forces And Solar Plane Stem Construction Set
Buoyant Forces
Learning outcome
Academy Of Steam Multipack: Maritime and sea exploration are highly important for the transportation of goods and people. Learn how ships can float over water due to buoyancy. Understand what is density, how it varies over objects and comprehend that density is a significant factor that determines whether an object will sink or float on a fluid.
Experiment Method Description
Build and decorate your submarine model. Use a sink filled with water to test its buoyant behaviour. Alter its density using a combination of materials such as air, water and investigate whether it will float or sink.
Components
Engino parts, plastic skins, and paper outlines sink with water, plastic bottle, pebbles. Cover all your STEAM learning bases (and a whole bunch more!) with these 4 awesome buoyancy models!

Solar Plane
Academy Of Steam Multipack: Scientists invented photovoltaic panels which can convert sunlight to electricity and can power up our machines with free and clean energy. Learning outcome: Our Sun provides so much energy to our planet that if we were to harness it efficiently all pollution and global warming problems would have been solved! Scientists invented photovoltaic panels which can convert sunlight to electricity and can power up our machines with free and clean energy.
Experiment Method Description
Test how the area of a solar panel affects its overall efficiency. Observe the number of rotations in one minute when the solar panel is exposed under direct sunlight. Partially cover the panel’s surface and measure once again the number of rotations. Prove that the produced electricity increases when the collecting area of a panel gets larger.
Components
Solar blade, Engino parts, plastic skins, and paper outlines, adhesive tape, piece of carton, sunlight.
